Smart Home Installation Across Ventura County
Advantage Smart Homes serves homeowners throughout Ventura County — from Thousand Oaks and Moorpark to the coast in Ventura and everywhere in between. We design and install smart home systems that are built for the specific property, neighborhood, and household we're working with. Every system is engineered, not assembled from a package.
Areas We Serve
We have dedicated pages for each community we serve — with local-specific information about common smart home challenges, recent projects in that area, and what to expect working with us. Select your city below.
Thousand Oaks
Our home base. We know Thousand Oaks properties — the hillside layouts, the mature neighborhoods, the newer builds along the 101. Smart home systems designed for the full range.

Lynn Ranch, Borchard Meadows, Lang Ranch, and the older 1980s–90s stock near Dos Vientos. We handle the stucco-wall WiFi challenges and hillside security blind spots that come with the territory.

Estate-scale systems for North Ranch, lakefront properties on Westlake Island, and custom hillside homes. Designed for large square footage, multiple structures, and high performance expectations.

Family-focused systems for Oak Park's planned neighborhoods — solving two-story WiFi dead zones, greenbelt-adjacent security gaps, and fragmented DIY setups that need to work for the whole household.

Systems built for Agoura Hills' hillside lots, canyon exposures, and Santa Monica Mountains adjacency — including security coverage for open-space-facing properties and reliable remote access year-round.

From newer Springville builds to established Las Posas Estates to Leisure Village — smart home systems designed for Camarillo's full range of neighborhoods, home types, and household needs.

Ventura County isn't a uniform market. The construction eras, lot sizes, coastal conditions, terrain, and neighborhood types vary significantly from city to city — and those differences affect how smart home systems need to be designed and installed. Here's what being local means for your project.
We Know the Homes
From Simi Valley's 1970s no-neutral wiring to Ventura's lathe-and-plaster walls to Westlake Village's multi-structure estates — we've worked across Ventura County's full range of construction types and know what it takes to do the job cleanly in each one.
We Know the Terrain
Hillside properties in Agoura Hills, canyon-adjacent lots, coastal salt-air environments in Ventura — these aren't challenges we learn about on the job. They're conditions we design around from the start of every project.
We're Here After the Install
We service what we install — in the same communities where our clients live. Questions, adjustments, and future expansions are handled by the same team that designed and built the system. No call centers, no starting from scratch every time.
Services Available Across All Areas
Every service we offer is available throughout our service area — as a standalone upgrade or as part of a fully integrated system.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do you charge a travel fee for areas outside Thousand Oaks?
No. All areas listed on this page are part of our standard service area — there's no travel surcharge for Ventura, Simi Valley, Camarillo, or any other community we serve. Your project proposal will reflect only the actual scope of work.
Do you serve areas not listed here?
Possibly. The cities listed represent our primary service area, but we do take on projects in neighboring communities. If you're not sure whether we cover your location, call us at (714) 660-7043 or reach out through our contact page and we'll let you know.
Is the installation process different depending on which city I'm in?
The process is the same — free consultation, custom design and proposal, professional installation, walkthrough and training. What changes is how we design the system. A beachside Ventura home, a hillside Agoura Hills property, and a newer Camarillo build all have different constraints, and we account for those from the first site visit.
What's a typical project cost?
It depends on scope. A focused upgrade — whole-home WiFi, a security camera system, or smart lighting — typically runs $900–$3,500. A full home automation system covering lighting, climate, security, and audio ranges from $8,000–$25,000+. Every project gets a clear, itemized proposal before any work begins.
How do I get started?
The easiest first step is scheduling a free in-home consultation. We visit your property, walk through what you're trying to accomplish, and give you a clear recommendation. There's no obligation to proceed. You can request one through our contact page or by calling (714) 660-7043.
